Growing up in a diplomat and hotelier family, the Berlin native was constantly exposed to a variety of cultures from a young age, with hotels—no matter where in the world—serving as her safe haven. This early immersion in the world of hospitality and travel ignited her passion for exploring diverse cultures, which has continued to inspire her throughout her life. Alongside her love for travel, Geraldine has also pursued her interests in singing, acting, and literature, beginning her studies in music at the age of nine. This rich tapestry of experiences has shaped her journey, fueling her lifelong passion for the hospitality industry and the arts.
After graduating from hotel management school in 2000, she began her career in the luxury travel industry and worked in sales for prestigious hotel chains such as Langham, Hilton, Kempinski Hotels, Ritz-Carlton and Rocco Forte. She has extensive experience in sales, marketing, and the positioning of new brands and segments.
The mother of two daughters impresses with her creative and hands-on nature. Geraldine has been our COO since byDistinction was founded in 2023.
Born in Brandenburg an der Havel, Morana pursued a degree in tourism management at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Salzgitter before relocating to the Canary Islands There, she gained valuable experience working for renowned hotel chains such as Iberostar and Barceló.
The travel expert has lived in Mallorca since 2018, where she has held several sales positions. As sales manager, she played an integral role in the opening teams at Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden and LJs Ratxó Eco Luxury Retreat. Following this position, Morana took a ten-month hiatus to travel through Central and South America. Her lifelong passion for travel and hospitality, combined with her experience in diverse cultures, equips her with the insight and creativity needed to develop new destinations, concepts, and hotel projects.
Morana is fluent in German, English, and Spanish. As a passionate traveler with a deep love for nature, she enjoys discovering new cultures, meeting diverse people, and exploring beautiful beaches. In February 2024, she joined the byDistinction team as a Senior Sales Manager.

Our efforts
We use targeted sales calls in Germany, Switzerland and Austria to strengthen the presence and awareness of our partner hotels and resorts. Through direct contact with potential customers and business partners, we create sustainable relationships and promote sales. We organize FAM trips with tour operators, travel agencies and media professionals to give them the opportunity to experience our partner hotels and resorts in person. These exclusive guided tours give visitors a 180-degree overview and a comprehensive understanding of the destination, the offerings and the hotel. This makes it even easier to sell them the experience or to bring them closer to a potential audience.
Our sales events, including get-togethers, lunches and dinner events, create a relaxed atmosphere for making new contacts and maintaining existing business relationships. These events aim to highlight the unique advantages of our partners and to engage directly with the participants.
We organize showcases and educational presentations to highlight the unique features and offerings of our partner hotels to a carefully curated audience. These events serve to generate interest and increase awareness. By regularly contacting hotels and agencies, we ensure that their occupancy is improved in the low season/their need periods. We pay particular attention to increasing the average daily rate (ADR) and revenue per available room (RevPAR) to increase profitability.
We actively support our partners in generating high-quality leads and help convert them into bookings. Through targeted marketing strategies and sales measures, we ensure that potential customers are aware o our partners' exceptional offerings.
